Hi, I'm Kyle Bodholdt.
Founder & sole developer, Bodholdt Labs
Bodholdt Labs is a one-person operation, and I think you deserve to know whose work you're trusting on your site. I'm Kyle Bodholdt, and I write every line of code, design every screen, answer every support ticket, and ship every update myself.
I build these plugins because the existing options didn't cut it: backup plugins that look like they were designed in 2008, and licensing platforms that take a cut of everything you earn. So I built better ones: obsessively tested, security-hardened, accessible (keyboard navigation, reduce-motion gating, ARIA semantics), and genuinely pleasant to use.
What "a one-person lab" means for you
A solo developer is a fair thing to be cautious about, so here's exactly how I de-risk it for you:
14-day money-back guarantee
Every paid plugin. No questions asked. If it doesn't fit your site, you get a full refund within 14 days.
GPL-licensed, so you're never locked in
All plugins are GPL. The code is yours to keep, modify, and run for as long as you like, no matter what happens to the lab.
Support comes from the developer
When you open a ticket, you reach me, the person who wrote the code, not a tiered outsourced queue reading from a script.
A young, independent lab, honestly
I won't pretend to be a 200-person company. I'm a focused indie shipping real updates often, and the changelog is the receipts.
Where your data lives
Every Bodholdt Labs plugin is self-hosted, which has a real privacy upside: your data stays on infrastructure you control. In plain terms:
- Backups (Google Drive / OneDrive): your site's database and files are sent directly from your server to your own Google Drive or OneDrive account. They never pass through Bodholdt Labs, so I never see or store your backups.
- Licensing: license keys, customers, and payment records live in your WordPress database and your own Stripe account. It's your licensing server, not mine.
- Tickets & Contact: tickets and messages are stored in your WordPress database. The AI co-pilot is bring-your-own-key, so it uses your Claude API key and only sends a ticket to Anthropic when you ask it to draft a reply.
- Licensing checks: paid plugins phone home to bodholdtlabs.com only to validate your license and fetch updates, never to collect your content.
