Terms of Service

Effective: May 13, 2026 Last updated: September 5, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms“) govern your purchase and use of WordPress plugins and related services from Bodholdt Labs. By buying or using anything we offer, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t, please don’t buy or use our products.

1. Who you’re doing business with

Bodholdt Labs is operated by Bodholdt Labs LLC, a California limited liability company. When we say “we,” “us,” or “Bodholdt Labs,” we mean Bodholdt Labs LLC. When we say “you,” we mean the person or organization that purchases or uses our products.

You can reach us at support@bodholdtlabs.com or legal@bodholdtlabs.com. Our mailing address is Bodholdt Labs LLC, 3992 Foothills Blvd Ste 100 #77, Roseville, CA 95747, United States.

2. The products

Bodholdt Labs sells WordPress plugins and related services. Bodholdt Licensing, Bodholdt Tickets, Bodholdt Atelier, Bodholdt Contact, Bodholdt Backup for Google Drive, Bodholdt Backup for OneDrive, and Bodholdt Backup Pro are current products. Products we no longer offer are described in Section 16, Product history. Bodholdt Tickets’s optional AI co-pilot requires your own Anthropic API key; data you choose to send to Anthropic through it is governed by Anthropic’s terms.

Each plugin is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPLv2+), the same license WordPress itself uses. That means you may modify and redistribute the plugin code under the same terms. What you cannot do is redistribute it under our name or use our trademarks; see Section 9.

3. Buying a plugin

What you’re buying

A purchase entitles you to:

  • The plugin software, delivered as a .zip file.
  • A license key that activates a currently offered plugin on the number of sites its tier allows. Site allowances vary by product and by tier. Withdrawn products do not accept new purchases or activations. See each current product’s pricing page for its exact tiers and limits.
  • Updates for as long as your subscription is active, or for the product lifetime if you bought a lifetime license, subject to the compliance and safety retirement provisions in Section 6. “Updates” means bug fixes, security patches, compatibility updates for new WordPress / PHP versions, and any feature improvements we ship to that plugin.
  • Support. Every paid license includes email support from the developer. On an annual or monthly plan you have it for as long as your plan is active. On a lifetime license you have it for as long as we offer the product. Support is the same on every paid tier. A higher tier covers more sites, and on Bodholdt Licensing more products and reporting, but it does not change how quickly or in what order we answer you. Products that ship only a free edition are supported on the ordinary terms in this document. Where a product has both a free and a paid edition, the license is what makes support a commitment, so a free edition carries no support term here. That is not the same as turning people away, and anyone can report a bug or a security problem in any edition under our Security policy. See “Support for lifetime licenses” below.

Subscriptions and billing

Annual and monthly plans renew automatically on the same day each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your customer portal at /manage-subscription/. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, so you keep access until then. We don’t refund partial periods on cancellation.

Lifetime plans are charged once. “Lifetime” means the lifetime of the product, not the customer’s lifetime. For a normal product discontinuation, we aim to announce the change at least 12 months in advance and give lifetime customers a free license for the closest equivalent successor product. If continuing a feature would violate law or a provider’s binding terms, or would create a material security or privacy risk, we may stop that feature sooner. This exception does not erase rights that accrued before the change. The Backup Bundle, Bodholdt Vault, and Bodholdt Watch withdrawals in Section 16 are compliance removals; the two backup plugins themselves were reinstated on August 15, 2026. A possible future SharePoint product is separate and is not an announced successor or included entitlement.

Support for lifetime licenses

A lifetime license has no recurring payment, so its support is not metered. We do not run a credit system and we do not cap the number of requests you can make. Pre-sales questions, feature requests, bug reports, and billing questions are always free. What we answer is questions about our own software, from the person the license belongs to. Bodholdt Labs is one person, so there is a limit to how much any one account can be given. If what you need ever passes that, we will tell you before anything changes, and we will be straight with you about what we can and cannot keep doing. If what you need is really custom development, or work on code that is not ours, we will say so plainly rather than leave you waiting. This applies to every Bodholdt Labs product that offers a lifetime license.

Prices are listed in U.S. dollars. Where a purchase is eligible for Stripe Managed Payments, Stripe acts as merchant of record for that transaction and calculates, collects, and remits any sales tax, VAT, or GST that applies based on your billing country; see the Merchant of record section below for details.

Merchant of record

Payments are processed through Stripe. Where checkout identifies Link, LLC as merchant of record, Link handles payment processing, applicable tax collection and remittance, refunds, and chargebacks for that eligible transaction. Bodholdt Labs remains the provider and seller of the software, license, updates, and support. Stripe currently describes Managed Payments as a public-preview service, so availability and checkout treatment can vary. Earlier subscriptions may continue to be billed with Bodholdt Labs LLC as merchant of record.

Refunds

Every purchase comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. To request a refund, open a ticket on our Support page using the email you bought with. We aim to process refunds within five business days.

After day 14, refunds are at our discretion and are not guaranteed.

Upgrading and downgrading

To move to a different tier, contact support before your renewal date and we will arrange the change and any price difference. Tier changes are not self-service today: a plan change made directly in Stripe updates your billing, but it does not change the tier or the site allowance recorded on your license key.

You can downgrade at renewal by selecting a lower tier when your license is up. We don’t refund the difference for mid-cycle downgrades.

4. Your account and license keys

You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials and license keys confidential. If you suspect your account or a license key has been compromised, email us and we’ll regenerate the affected keys.

License keys are tied to a specific email address. If you change your email, update it in your account or email us.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use our products for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Reverse-engineer our license server, attempt to spoof license validations, or share license keys with unauthorized parties.
  • Use the plugins to back up, restore, or transmit content you don’t have the legal right to handle (copyright infringement, stolen data, content that violates someone else’s privacy, etc.).
  • Use our products to attack, infringe on, or harass any third party.
  • Resell our products under your own name or rebrand them without a separate written agreement.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these rules. We’ll always tell you why.

6. Updates, support, and end-of-life

For products that are currently offered, we commit to:

  • Compatibility: every plugin supports the two most recent major WordPress releases and the two most recent stable PHP versions.
  • Security: confirmed critical security vulnerabilities are prioritized above other work and patched as quickly as possible.
  • Support: email support while your license is active, the same on every paid tier, opened as a ticket on our Support page. A lifetime license has no renewal date, so its support does not stop at one (Section 3).

7. Disclaimers

Our products are provided “as is” and “as available.” While we work hard to make them reliable, we make no warranty that:

  • They will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • They will meet any specific business requirements you have.
  • Any backups they create will always succeed, or that backups can always be restored to the state you expect.

Important: the Backup Bundle, Bodholdt Vault, and Bodholdt Watch are withdrawn and unsupported, and Bodholdt Labs no longer provides their software or recovery tools. For every product, keep an independent off-server copy and test restores using a currently supported, lawfully operated system. We are not liable for data loss when an old third-party copy, historical backup, restore, migration, recovery, or provider operation does not work as expected.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or our products is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or cost of substitute goods or services), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for consequential damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent allowed by law.

9. Intellectual property

The plugin code is licensed to you under GPLv2+. You may copy, modify, and redistribute it under the same license.

The Bodholdt Labs name, logo, and brand assets are not covered by the GPL. You may not use them to identify your own products or services, or in a way that suggests endorsement, without our written permission. If you want to write a review, comparison, or honest mention of our products, you’re welcome to, and that’s fair use.

User-contributed content (support requests, testimonials you give us permission to use, etc.) remains your property. By submitting it to us, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it in connection with our business, subject to our Privacy Policy.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Bodholdt Labs against any claim, damage, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from (a) your use of our products in violation of these Terms, (b) content you back up, restore, or transmit using our products that infringes someone else’s rights, or (c) your violation of any law or regulation.

11. Term and termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use our products. You can stop using them at any time and cancel from your account. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice unless the violation is so severe that immediate action is required (e.g., active attack on our infrastructure).

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Sections 7 to 13) survive termination.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

For any dispute that arises from or relates to these Terms, the parties first agree to attempt informal resolution by email for at least 30 days. If that doesn’t resolve the dispute, the parties agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Placer County, California, and waive any objection to that venue.

If you’re a consumer resident in the EU/UK, nothing in these Terms removes your statutory consumer rights, and you may bring legal action in the courts of the country where you are habitually resident, in addition to the California courts.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the business grows. When we make a material change, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top, post the new version at this URL, and (where the change is significant) email customers. Continued use of our products after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific addendum, are the entire agreement between you and Bodholdt Labs on this subject and supersede any prior agreements.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign your account or license without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a sale of substantially all our business.
  • Notices. Notices to you may be sent to the email address associated with your account. Notices to us should be sent to support@bodholdtlabs.com.

16. Product history

These products are retired. This section is kept so the record stays public and so anyone whose data we still hold can find what applies to it.

Backup products reinstated. Bodholdt Backup for Google Drive and Bodholdt Backup for OneDrive were withdrawn on August 9, 2026 and reinstated on August 15, 2026. They are available and supported again on the ordinary terms in this document. The Backup Bundle, Bodholdt Vault, and Bodholdt Watch remain withdrawn: no purchase, distribution, fulfillment, activation, download, update, recovery, OAuth authorization, provider operation, or Watch operation remains for those. The August 2026 withdrawal did not access, delete, move, or take ownership of a customer’s cloud files; those files remain under the customer’s Google or Microsoft account. An operator with an older copy should deactivate and uninstall it and revoke its provider app grant. Financial, refund, subscription, fulfillment, license, activity, security, and audit records may be preserved for accounting, tax, chargeback, audit, legal-claims, abuse-prevention, and privacy-rights purposes.

Why the withdrawal was reversed. The August 2026 withdrawal followed an internal review which concluded that the providers’ developer terms did not permit backing up a site to the site owner’s own cloud storage. That conclusion was wrong, and we withdraw it. For what those terms require, read the Google Drive API Terms of Service and the Microsoft APIs Terms of Use directly. We have not launched or sold a SharePoint backup product. Any future SharePoint shared-library product would be separately named and offered, require new provider configuration and consent, and be governed by the terms and privacy notice then in effect; it is not a continuation of or entitlement under a retired product.

Historical Watch beta: Bodholdt Watch no longer enrolls, ingests telemetry, or sends alerts. Its Worker route has been removed or is hard-closed to HTTP 410 without accepting ingress until route removal. It was not a service-level agreement, uptime monitor, backup archive, proof that a backup was restorable, or substitute for restore testing. The Privacy Policy explains the limited historical records retained in Cloudflare D1, applicable retention controls, and how to request export or deletion.
